If you created an Polc account (mobile app or web portal), you can request deletion of your account and the personal information linked to it. This page explains how, what we delete, and what we may keep where the law requires it.
1. How to request deletion
Option A — In the mobile app (recommended)
- Open the POLC Lift Club app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Open privacy / data options and choose Delete my data (or submit a privacy request of type deletion).
- Confirm the request. We log it and notify our privacy team.
Option B — Web portal
- Sign in at polc.impactelements.co.za.
- Open your Profile.
- Submit a privacy / data-deletion request from the privacy section.
Option C — Email (if you cannot sign in)
Email [email protected] with:
- The email address registered on your account
- Your full name
- A clear statement that you want your account and personal data deleted

2. Response time
We aim to acknowledge and complete deletion requests within 30 business days, in line with POPIA. You will receive confirmation by email when the request is fulfilled (where we have a working email address for you).
3. What we delete
When a deletion request is approved, we remove or anonymise personal data associated with your account, including where applicable:
- Account profile (name, email, phone, emergency contacts, medical notes)
- Driver's licence photo and other profile uploads
- Push notification tokens / device subscriptions
- Vehicles and vehicle photos you enrolled under that account
- Incident / BOLO records you created, and related uploaded media, subject to section 4
- Session and app-related identifiers tied to your user record
After deletion, you will no longer be able to sign in with that account.
4. What we may retain
Some information may be retained for a limited period where we have a legal or operational obligation, for example:
- Legal / regulatory records: Incident, recovery, or insurer-related records that must be kept for compliance, disputes, or law-enforcement cooperation
- Audit / security logs: Limited logs needed to investigate abuse or demonstrate compliance (not used for marketing)
- Financial / billing records: Where your organisation was billed for the service
Where retention applies, we keep only what is necessary and for no longer than required (see our Privacy Policy — typically up to five years after account closure for certain records, then purge or anonymise).
5. App uninstall vs account deletion
Uninstalling the Android app from your device does not delete your Polc account or cloud-stored data. Use one of the request methods above to delete your account and personal data.
